The Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks


 

The Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks has been Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth since 1991. As the spiritual head of the United Synagogue, the largest synagogue body in the UK, he is the Chief Rabbi of the mainstream British orthodox synagogues.

Lord Sacks has been building positive relationships with the Progressive community and notably is the first Chief Rabbi to sit with a Reform Rabbi as a joint President of the Council of Christians and Jews in the UK. He also heads the Chief Rabbi's Cabinet. The Chief Rabbi accepted to become a Patron of Rights and Humanity in 2009.
