Launch of our 10/12 Community

Inspired by the vision of our Patrons and the commitment of our supporters, Rights and Humanity is proud to launch The 10/12 Community, commemorating the adoption of The Universal Declaration of Human Rights on 10 December 1948.

Support our vital work…
On Human Rights Day, 10 December 2009, Rights and Humanity launched The 10/12 Community in order to bring together supporters contributing £10 or more a month for 12 months (10/12). The 10/12 Community is open to people of all faiths and walks of life committed to supporting Rights and Humanity to build a more just, peaceful, and sustainable world.

The Launch of the 10/12 Community was Rights and Humanity’s first event in Liverpool, taking place in the atrium of the Royal Liver Building. Guests had the chance to network and listen to several speakers including former Ambassador, Dame Audrey Glover, and Mr Peter Fane, Head of Property at Royal Liver Assurance.

Sir Bert Massie CBE, set an example by being the first person to sign a declaration to join the 10/12 Community. All the funds from this initiative will feed back into the establishment of Rights and Humanity’s new International Centre of Excellence in Human Rights and Responsibilities (ICERR).

Supporters will have the opportunity to participate in our workshops and community empowerment projects in Liverpool and beyond and also volunteer at the Centre.

Help build a more just and sustainable world
The 10/12 Community will link caring people worldwide, provide a platform for discussion, and prompt a deeper awareness of justice, peace, and sustainable development.
