Opening of International Centre

Opening of The International Centre in Human Rights and Responsibilities (ICHRR)

After 23 years of thought leadership, innovative action and global achievements, Rights and Humanity is delighted to announce the establishment of our new International Centre in Human Rights and Responsibilities (ICHRR) in Liverpool, UK. The official Civic Launch of ICHRR will be held on 29th November 2010 at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral.

On 22nd April 2010 Mrs Cherie Blair, one of Rights and Humanity’s patrons, cut the ribbon to open our new premises in the iconic Royal Liver Building on the City’s famous waterfront, at an informal champagne reception.

Over 100 city leaders and supporters of Rights and Humanity attended the reception where Mrs Blair expressed her delight that Rights and Humanity was now based in her home town of Liverpool. Professor Häusermann also spoke to thank Mrs Blair and all those present for their support and encouragement.

Rights and Humanity’s work is needed now more than ever as the world grapples with the old challenges of poverty and conflict and the unprecedented threat of climate change.

Our new International Centre will lead the way in demonstrating how globally agreed human rights and the values that unite our faiths and cultures provide an effective tool for common action. I am thrilled to know that the Centre will provide Rights and Humanity with a sustainable foundation to continue to make the world a better place throughout the coming decades.”

 - Professor Julia Häusermann, MBE, Founder and President, Rights and Humanity
