Cherie Booth QC is a barrister and the wife of the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. She was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1995 and now specialises in Public, Employment and European Community Law . She is a Recorder and Bencher of Lincoln’s Inn.

She married Tony Blair in 1980 and contested the parliamentary seat of Thanet North in 1983 for the Labour Party. Cherie is Chancellor and Honorary Fellow of Liverpool John Moores University (JMU), Governor and Honorary Fellow of the LSE and the Open University). She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies and a Fellow of the International Society of Lawyers for Public Service. She became an Honorary Bencher of King’s Inn, Dublin in January 2002.

Mrs Blair is an active Patron of WHEN! and hosts several Rights and Humanity events annually.
